It’s been a long, dynamic career for Kid Koala, whether you know him as a Gorillaz collaborator, whether you know him as 1/3 of Deltron 3030 the post-apocalyptic hip-hop group made up of Del tha Funkee Homosapien and producer Dan the Automator, or you are a big fan of his solo stuff through the years. The cool thing is as we see ourselves on the otherside of this pandemic, we are in a time where he feels that Creatures of the Late Afternoon is the most fun album he’s ever recorded, which happens to be his latest body of work due out in a few weeks. Combining energy, emotion, and a whole range of different moods, it doesn’t take long to realize that this is a very special release. We talk about everything under the sun from growing up as the black sheep, using music to shape his future, and all the ins and outs of what it means to be a true pioneer in this game.
