Kelly Finnigan
Kelly Finnigan swings by the podcast at a very crazy time. His timing in life, amidst this pandemic, was one with a stroke of luck. He just finished a tour to support his debut album 'The Tales People Tell', and was able to get his song in a hit movie before all the movie theaters in the country closed. If that good fortune wasn't enough he is celebrating the release of Monophonics new album 'It’s Only Us’, their fourth release since 2012, and we're able to reflect on his solo album and celebrate this new record he produced. We chat about his upbringing, his parents influence on his work, politics, and more in a very in depth conversation in an era where real soul music is truly appreciated, Finnigan is making his claim as one of the current ambassadors. At times these tracks can feel classic, as familiar as an old song you grew up with, while simultaneously raising questions about the state of music in 2020 and what the future might hold.
