The hip-hop tale of Charles Hamilton is very well documented. In 2019, however he is scraping his way back into a rap scene that’s changed significantly since he first emerged. This week I sit down with him to find out where exactly is his place within it? From his upbringing in Cleveland, to shuffling around New York, we chat about his survival instinct, his failures, triumphs, and new outlook on life. Of course, production and sampling is talked about heavy, as is the transition of him starting his own record label, Standard Sound. The future is bright and if this conversation is any indication of things ahead, Charles Hamilton is an artist that’s easy to root for when it comes to making a comeback.
